The e3.65i system is built to offer a 'drop in' result. The Eu - Achitecture Midrange drivers, elliptic crossover network and audiophile grade silk tweeter system come together to create a seamless assembly that works together to produce a wider, more accurate dynamic range of sound. The system was designed to not only sound incredible but offer superior staging and imaging without gobs of external equalization. Just like everything else a weak component could make or break the system as a whole. This includes your midrange driver. It's responsible for a broad range of critical frequencies. In this case the midrange included in the e3.65i system (Eu-600) has a usable frequency response beyond that of most other speakers, except it's big brother the Eu-650. The Audiophile grade silk tweeter provides exceptional off axis response allowing the system to offer superior imaging when the installation might not be as ideal as one would like when used in correlation with with Eu - Architecture midrange drivers. The impressive silk tweeter system uses a pancake neodymium motor design that not only keeps motor strength, control, and linearity extremely high but cuts down on overall mounting depth a good deal. (The Eu - 600 tweeter is less than half a inch deep). The ferro fluid cooling system integrated into the tweeter also creates superior power handling and reduces dynamic compression as a whole even at extremely high listening levels. The Eu-X600 crossover uses a ingeniously designed fifth order, elliptic type network that creates very distinct advantages over conventional "Butterworth" or "Linkwitz-Riley" passive filter topologies. The benefits of the design are many. First, the power transition between midrange and tweeter is virtually identical. Phase response problems and polarity shifts are almost entirely eliminated. What you HEAR is a much more natural sounding component system, as if it were that one perfect speaker.
